The REPORTED suspect is Vance Luther Boelter. KSTP is reporting that this is the suspect. 





If that is the case, the reason he had an SUV with flashing lights and he was wearing a badge and gun is because he helps run an armed security firm named Praetorian Security Services. 

The reason why the car APPEARED to be a police car is that it PROBABLY looked like this:

A former appointee of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is being sought in connection with the assassination of a state lawmaker and the shooting of another, police sources said.

Vance Luther Boelter allegedly posed as a police officer when he shot Sen. John Hoffman and his wife in their Champlin home early Saturday, leaving them seriously injured before moving on to former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman’s house — where he is believed to have slaughtered her and her husband, sources told The Post.

Vance Boelter, the suspect in today’s shootings, was the CEO of an international NGO called the Red Lion Group. But I couldn’t find any photographs or digital records of its work, only a generic website.The Red Lion Group appears to have run out of funding a month or two ago, as that is when he started looking for executive-level roles.

It has been confirmed by local media that the suspect is Vance Boelter, who is associated with the security firm. 

Apparently Boelter was previously associated with The Red Lions Group, a security firm. 





UPDATE:

All information at this point is preliminary and hence not 100% reliable. I am not certain that DataRepublican is identifying the right group or not. 

The left has been trying to wrap Boelter around MAGA, but he was appointed to gubernatorial commissions by both Mark Dayton and current governor Tim Walz. 

Boelter was also a minister who tried to convert Hamas militants to Christianity. Bizarre. 

Lots of people are tracking down information on Boelter, and there will be much more to come:

A PERSONAL NOTE:

I happen to know Hortman a bit, and my wife, who worked at the Minnesota House for about 10 years, worked with her as a Republican staffer. She and the legislators with whom she worked met with Hortman weekly during the legislative sessions. Now my wife works at the Minnesota Senate, so she knows both of the victims who were legislators. She does not know the spouses. 

This hits home for us. 

That photo comes from Minnesota Africans United. Boelter did work in the Congo, suggesting the link to Africa. 

Minnesota Africans United is a group affiliated with the Democratic Party. One of its founding board members is former Secretary of State Mark Ritchie. 





Advisory Board: As a statewide umbrella organization that is focused on the wellbeing of the immigrant community, MAU has an established an advisory board that includes members of the African immigrant community. Our advisory board serve in the vision, mission and decision making for MAU and it is broken down into committees. The board broadly represent community interests chosen from different sovereign African nations represented in Minnesota. There is also a provision for three additional board members who are non-African immigrants.

In addition to the Board, there is a general assembly that includes our members from whom the Board members come.

MAU is very tied into the business and political world here in Minnesota. 

A lot of people have been pointing out that Melissa Hortman was the sole Democrat in the Minnesota House of Representatives to vote for the compromise budget passed in the special session. 

This is true, although she opposed the most controversial position: denying illegal immigrants health care subsidies. Many have speculated that this was the motive, but I would caution against that. Boelter had a long list of politicians as targets, most of whom did not vote for or support this. Among those was Senator Tina Smith, a left-wing Democrat. 

It is likelier, assuming a political motive, that the motive was Gaza-related. Boelter had ties to the Middle East and Africa, and had tried to convert Islamist terrorists to Christianity. I suspect–don’t KNOW–that is a likelier source of his motive. 

ODD NOTE: I have been monitoring the local ABC channel, and the manhunt has remained concentrated within a 3 mile radius of Hortman’s house in a Minneapolis suburb. Boelter is on foot, but he has had 11 hours to escape. I do not know why they still believe he is in the area. 

Also odd: Boelter (pronounced Belter) served on a governor-appointed board until 2023

MAYBE: Some outlets are reporting that Boelter was an anti-abortion activist targeting Democrats for their abortion support. Too early to say. 

JUST REPORTED: Senator Hoffman and Boelter served on the Workforce Development Board at the same time. Reported by KSTP TV.

CBS reports indicate that among his targets were abortion providers. 

There was an extensive list of possible targets among writings found in Boelter’s vehicle. The list included more than 50 individuals including officials outside of Minnesota, and including abortion rights advocates and abortion facilities. 

THE FIGHT TO ASSIGN BLAME is going strong on both sides of the aisle:

Was it anti-abortion? Was Boelter a strong Democrat because he was appointed to boards by Mark Dayton and Tim Walz? Both could be true. The nonprofit he was associated with was tied to the Democratic Party for sure. 

We just don’t know the motive. 

Daily Mail Reports:

All Democratic members of Minnesota’s Congressional delegation were on alleged ‘manifesto’

All Democratic members of Minnesota’s Congressional delegation were reportedly on the suspect’s alleged hit list, a law enforcement source told CNN.

US Capitol Police have contacted each member of the state’s delegation, conducting security checks amid the ongoing manhunt.

‘The United States Capitol Police is aware of the violence targeting state lawmakers in Minnesota,’ Capitol Police said in a statement.

‘We have been working with our federal, state and local partners,’ it added.

‘For safety reasons, we cannot provide specific details about our security posture.’

But they also report that the manifesto was anti-Trump. Who knows?

Officials find ‘manifesto’ in suspect’s vehicle

Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley said the gunman’s vehicle, which bore a close resemblance to a police squad car, contained a ‘manifesto’ and a target list with names of individuals, including the two lawmakers who were shot.

‘I will tell you, when we did a search of the vehicle, there was a manifesto that identified many lawmakers and other officials,’ Brooklyn Park Police Department Chief Mark Bruley said.

‘We immediately made alerts to the state, who took action,’ he added. ‘Alerting them and providing security where necessary.’

The list found inside the suspect’s car contained nearly 70 names, a law enforcement official told CNN.

The list included abortion providers, pro-abortion rights advocates and lawmakers from Minnesota and other states.

A Father’s Day card was also reportedly discovered inside the vehicle, addressed to the suspect in a bag full of ammunition.





ABC reports:

A list of other possible targets was retrieved from the suspect’s vehicle, authorities said. The list named Hortman and Hoffman, police noted.

The list included dozens of other Democrats from Minnesota, including Gov. Walz, U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, U.S. Sen. Tina Smith and state Attorney General Keith Ellison, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the matter.

Law enforcement officials are looking into whether the suspect may have been motivated by extreme views on abortion, the sources said.

This morning Boelter was caught on video in Minneapolis. He has changed clothes, is now wearing a cowboy hat and jeans.

2 a.m. – Champlin police respond to shooting

At about 2 a.m. Saturday, Champlin police got a call that Hoffman and his wife had been shot, said Drew Evans, superintendent of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

Police responded to the family’s home, and the two were taken to the hospital for surgery, Evans said.

3:35 a.m. – Police check on Rep. Melissa Hortman’s home

Shortly after, at about 3:35 a.m., another call came in that two Brooklyn Park officers were proactively checking Hortman’s home several miles away, Evans said.

Those officers pulled down the street and saw what looked like a police SUV in the driveway with emergency lights on, said Brooklyn Park police chief Mark Bruley. A person who appeared to be a police officer was at the door, coming out of the house.

When the officers confronted the person, the person immediately fired on police and retreated back into the house after exchanging gunfire, Bruley said.

Bruley said police “believe confidently” the suspect fled out of the back of the house.

The officers went into the house and saw a man hurt with a gunshot wound. They dragged him outside and attempted to give first aid, but he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Law enforcement surrounded the house and used a drone to enter the house and identify Hortman.

Somebody dug up a video where Boelter gave his biography.

Beege Here: Just an interesting note about Boelter possibly ‘shaving his head.’ Sharp eyes on X noticed something in the stills from the porch surveillance camera, and police later said a latex mask was found.

This could be why he looked like he had shaved his head.
