As much as 30 million barrels of Venezuelan oil is on its way to the United States, according to President Trump, which would be the equivalent of one month’s worth of Venezuelan production.
The president said the oil windfall is on the way “right now.”
“It’s about $4 billion worth of oil and it’s on our way to the United States right now, and we want to thank Venezuela for that,” Mr. Trump said at a meeting with oil company executives at the White House.
Executives from Chevron, ConocoPhillips and Exxon were among those attending the meeting, which focused on stabilizing Venezuela’s oil industry following the capture Saturday of President Nicolas Maduro by U.S. troops.
Mr. Trump said the U.S. is now working with the new leadership in Venezuela. “We’re working very well with them,” he said.
