President Trump has long admired Tiger Woods. Now the golfing star could someday become part of the president’s extended family.
Vanessa Trump, who was married to Mr. Trump’s son, Don Jr., and is the mother of five of the president’s grandchildren, is in a romantic relationship with the golfing legend.
The two have been dating since November, according to reports, and the relationship may be getting serious.
“But it’s not too serious, it’s heading in that direction, though,” a source told the New York Post.
Mr. Trump, an accomplished golfer himself with a handicap as low as 2.8 according to Golf Digest, has had a long and friendly relationship with Mr. Woods, 49. The two regularly hit the links together, most recently in February.
Mr. Woods appeared at the White House last month for a Black History Month event. In 2019, Mr. Trump awarded Mr. Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Vanessa Trump, 47, has remained very friendly with her former in-laws, appearing on stage at Mr. Trump’s election-night victory speech. She was married to Don Jr., 47, from 2005-2018. Among their five children is Kai Trump, 17, an avid golfer and social media star who spoke at the Republican National Convention ahead of her grandfather’s third GOP presidential nomination.
Kai Trump is classmates with Mr. Woods’ golfing son, Charlie, 16, and daughter Sam Alexis, 17, at the elite Benjamin School in Palm Beach.
Vanessa Trump and Mr. Woods live near each other in Jupiter Island, Florida. She’s dropped hints about her burgeoning relationship with the golf legend by liking several social media posts beginning in December.
Most recently, she liked a March 7 video of Mr. Woods asking son Charlie for a chicken finger while the two watched a golf tournament. She also liked a Dec. 22 post by Mr. Woods featuring his children.
Mr. Woods announced recently he’ll undergo surgery for an Achilles rupture, which will force him to miss the 2025 Masters tournament.
Don Jr., meanwhile, has moved on from his ex-fiancee and former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle. He’s dating Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson, 37, who is pals with Vanessa Trump.
Mr. Trump nominated Ms. Guilfoyle, 56, to serve as ambassador to Greece. The nomination is pending in the Senate.
Mr. Woods was married to Swedish model Elin Nordegren from 2004 until 2010.
