Palantir expands customer base for Warp Speed operating system

Software company Palantir announced this week that six new customers would deploy its Warp Speed technology to boost production in their various industries, signaling a successful expansion of the operating system.

According to a Palantir release Thursday, the newest Warp Speed customers include Epirus, Red Cat, Sildrone, Saronic, Ursa Major and Sierra Nevada Corporation. All companies involved in the expansion are expected to use Warp Speed to improve their production efficiency, manage their fleets and optimize maintenance.

Palantir announced its Warp Speed program back in December. The software is a manufacturing operating system that uses AI technology to improve production, scheduling, engineering management and inspections. Palantir has partnered with L3Harris, Shield AI, Anduril Industries and Panasonic Energy of North America to launch Warp Speed.

Palantir says the new customer expansion will foster innovation and continue U.S. dominance in defense technology.

“We designed Warp Speed to enable faster, safer, and more efficient production of formidable machinery that is critical to America’s leadership — from sea vessels, to drones, to propulsion systems,” Palantir’s Head of Industrials Emily Nguyen said. “Epirus, Red Cat, Saildrone, Saronic, SNC, and Ursa Major represent the most visionary leaders, technologies, and manufacturing operations — and we are extremely proud to enable the companies who share our sense of responsibility for the power of American production.”

Palantir laid out a slew of Warp Speed’s technological capabilities including MRP speed that lets customers efficiently adjust their orders and inventory, continuous delivery of engineering updates, unlocking key business data, AI-enabled fleet control and security improvements that ensure defense contractors can reach regulatory compliance.

While all of Palantir’s new customers are expected to use Warp Speed to improve their production capabilities, they are also excited to dive into the program’s AI and fleet management capabilities. Both Saildrone and SNC hope Warp Speed will improve efficiency, allowing them to scale manufacturing.

“As manufacturing processes grow organically in a rapidly evolving startup, numerous, disparate systems are naturally created, delivering onerous workflows that block productivity,” CEO of Saildrone Richard Jenkins said. “Warp Speed ties all these systems together with one over-arching production planning tool. It’s transformational for Saildrone and our ability to rapidly scale manufacturing with minimum overhead going forwards.”

Other Warp Speed customers said that adding the program to its arsenal is crucial for hitting U.S. defense production goals.

“As a country, we must scale effective defense technologies and capabilities faster than the threat environment is evolving. We must aim to produce units in hours instead of days or weeks,” CEO of Ursa Major Dan Jablonsky said. “We must provide them efficiently and at reasonable costs, and we are partnering with Palantir on Warp Speed to bring the very best in innovation to the United States’ national security needs.”

On Thursday, Palantir will host the sixth annual AIPCon, where it is expected to unveil more new customers for its AI-powered programs.
