More Tesla Vandalism in the US and Canada – HotAir

The latest surge of Tesla vandalism happened in Canada Thursday when more than 80 cars were damaged at a single Tesla location south of Toronto.

In a news release Thursday, Hamilton Police Service said officers were called to the dealership near Lime Ridge Mall on Wednesday and “discovered upwards of 80 Tesla vehicles” parked outdoors were damaged.

The damage included “deep scratches and punctured tires.”

There’s some video of the damage below. This clip also includes a statement from a police officer who seems to be saying there’s no evidence this is connected to the wave of similar attacks. Really? How much evidence do you need?

This isn’t even the only attack on Tesla this week. Activists spray painted another location in Canada.

In Montreal, two members of a climate advocacy group called Last Generation Canada doused the exterior of a Tesla dealership in pink spray paint on Wednesday, according to a statement issued by the group.

The group said it had committed the act because it believed that Mr. Musk was “destroying democracies and spreading climate denial.”

The two members involved in the episode were later arrested, the authorities said.

There is of course video of this stunt:

Finally, police are also investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed a Model S used for test drives.

A Tesla Model S was deliberately set on fire late Monday night in the parking lot of CF Masonville Mall in London, Ontario. The incident, which occurred around 11:30 p.m., is currently under investigation by local police and fire officials.

According to a post on Reddit, an individual wearing a ski mask was seen igniting the vehicle before fleeing the scene. Early indications suggest that the burned Tesla was one of several demo vehicles available for test drives at Tesla’s recently opened showroom inside the mall.

Three incidents in one week seems like a pattern. Meanwhile, back in the US reports of vandalism keep coming. In Chicago, some goon stuck a swastika on a Jewish Tesla owner’s car

Peter Katz told Nexstar’s WGN he walked out of his home to find an antisemitic sticker on the back of his red Tesla. Katz, who is Jewish, said he filed a police report and shared ring camera video and images with detectives.

“It’s just wrong that someone’s going out there and doing this in our neighborhoods for a choice that people make on a car,” Katz said…

“Someone put a swastika on our car, and then it had a sticker that said Heil Elon,” Katz said.

And in Arlington, VA, just outside Washington, DC:

A swastika was keyed into the hood of a parked Tesla in Arlington County, Virginia.

Police received an online report of a vandalism incident in the area of the 1700 block of North Veitch Street on March 21. According to the report, the incident occurred overnight while the 2023 Tesla was parked and unoccupied.

Recently a random person’s Tesla was vandalized in downtown Syracuse. He went on Fox News to make the point that he’s just a regular person.

For his part, Elon Musk is being pretty reasonable and asking people to stop being psychos.

Elon Musk has a message for Tesla vandals: “Stop being psycho.”

“Listen I understand if you don’t want to buy our product,” Musk said during an impromptu all-hands meeting with Tesla employees on Thursday that was livestreamed on X. “But you don’t have to burn it down, that’s a bit unreasonable.”…

“If you read the news, it feels like armageddon,” Musk said on Thursday night. “I can’t walk past the TV without seeing a Tesla on fire.”

Will they stop being psychos? Some might but only if there is a price to pay for this behavior.
