Karine Jean-Pierre Ditches Democrat Party

Former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced Wednesday that she’s leaving the Democratic Party to become an independent.

In a video promoting her forthcoming biography, “Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines,” Jean-Pierre writes about her experience in the White House and her decision to “step beyond party lines to embrace life as Independent.”

Her publisher, Legacy Lit, states in its summary that Jean-Pierre didn’t come easily to this decision, after working for former President Barack Obama and then in a high-profile role for former President Joe Biden.

“In 2020, she joined Biden’s campaign as a senior adviser, becoming [Kamala] Harris’s chief of staff and then, two years later, White House press secretary,” the Legacy Lit summary continues. “She takes us through the three weeks that led to Biden’s abandoning his bid for a second term and the betrayal by the Democratic Party that led to his decision.”

The former press secretary released a video on Instagram presenting her book. She explained that the book is meant to help people think outside the political boxes.

“In an era of misinformation, disinformation, the repressiveness of social policy, what we’re seeing currently, right now, what I have decided to do, and I really have thought long and hard about this, is to follow my own compass,” Jean-Pierre said. And that’s what I’ve done, and that’s what this book does.”

Jean-Pierre repeatedly reassured the media that Biden wouldn’t be pardoning his son, Hunter Biden, only for him to then go against the press secretary’s own words.

“You have said repeatedly yourself since the election and the president has said for months no pardon was coming. I wanted to ask you, could those statements now be seen as lies to the American people?” Jean-Pierre was asked. “Is there really a credibility issue here now given this announcement?”

“First of all, one of the things that the president always believes is to be truthful to the American people. That is something that he always truly believes,” she replied, defending Biden’s decision based on a possible political persecution.

“Independent” is set to be released Oct. 21, following the list of books on Biden’s presidency, including the bestselling “Original Sin” by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson.
