Israeli airstrike kills Hamas terrorist leader just days after he takes over, Netanyahu makes good on Trump’s threat to bring Hell to Hamas, Christians, Alawites and Druze under attack in Syria and our alleged NATO ally Türkiye is careening toward a civil war – all these stories and more are in today’s ConservativeHQ.com newsletter.

An Israeli precision airstrike has killed Hamas’ so-called Prime Minister and another senior Hamas leader in a strike on a Gaza hospital used as cover by the terrorist organization.
Last Tuesday, Israeli strikes killed Essam Addalees, head of Hamas’ de facto government, and Mahmoud Abu Watfa, the group’s internal security chief, along with several other officials.
Ismail Barhoum, a member of Hamas’ political office, was later taken out in the surgery department of Nasser Hospital in terrorist hotspot Khan Younis. Hamas terrorist leaders have been previously proven to use hospitals, schools and mosques as shelter from attacks.
Barhoum is the latest Hamas official to be killed since Israel resumed its ground offensive after Hamas refused to extend a ceasefire deal, The (UK) Telegraph reported.
Earlier, Hamas said another senior figure, Salah Al-Bardawil, was killed in a separate Israeli strike in Khan Younis on Saturday — a claim the Israeli military confirmed.
The airstrike on Bardawil came as Israeli forces expanded operations, with military spokesperson Avichay Adraee issuing evacuation warnings for Tel Al-Sultan in western Rafah. He said the army was targeting terrorist organizations in the area.
Both men were members of Hamas’ 19-member political bureau “elected” in 2021.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz likened the latest phase of the war to “opening the gates of hell.” The strikes, which killed more than 400 people, targeted not only members of Hamas’s armed wing, the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades, but also the director general of Gaza’s Interior Ministry, the director general of the Justice Ministry, and members of the Hamas political bureau as they gathered at home for predawn meals before the daytime fast of Ramadan.
According to Hamas sources, 11 of those members have now been wiped out since the Hamas terrorist organization launched its latest war against Israel in a savage attack of rape and murder of civilians in October 2023.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said the war aims to dismantle Hamas as a governing and military force and pressure the group into releasing remaining hostages.
The Washington Post reported the more aggressive tactics, according to current and former Israeli officials and others briefed, will probably also include direct military control of humanitarian aid; targeting more of Hamas’s civilian leadership; and evacuating women, children and vetted noncombatants from neighborhoods to “humanitarian bubbles” and laying siege to those who remain — a more intense version of a tactic employed last year in northern Gaza.
Some Israeli officials say that only a full-scale invasion now, followed by a lengthy counterinsurgency and deradicalization effort, would accomplish Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s stated aim of eradicating Hamas after the group launched a campaign of rape, murder and torture on Oct. 7, 2023, that killed about 1,200 Israelis and sparked the latest round of war.
“Now there is new [IDF] leadership, there is the backup from the U.S., there is the fact that we have enough munitions, and the fact that we finished our main missions in the north and can concentrate on Gaza,” Avivi said. “The plans are decisive. There will be a full-scale attack and they will not stop until Hamas is eradicated completely. We’ll see.”
The Washington Post reported Israel has destroyed nearly all of Hamas’s 24 fighting battalions, it says, leaving a few thousand fighters in Gaza. But to fully eradicate the remnants, it would have to hold the territory — which some observers note could be a prelude to President Donald Trump’s proposal to have the United States redevelop Gaza once Hamas has been removed.
Or, more precisely, it is full of Gazans who have been raised from infancy to be terrorists who believe they are divinely ordained to murder, rape and torture Jews, Americans and anyone else whom their unelected leaders designate as enemies – and that includes any of their fellow Gazans who object to living the hellish life their leaders have constructed for them.
History shows that Gazans are disinterested in the values that might lead them to a peaceful life in coexistence with Israel. Only by removing them entirely will peace be achieved.
