Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are America’s top choice of candy for Halloween month, or least it was in October the past two years, delivery app DoorDash revealed recently.
DoorDash compiled a top 10 list for both Halloween seasons and found that Reese’s was No. 1 for purchases in 2023 and 2024.
Last year, other candy in the top 10 were M&M’s, Hershey’s milk chocolate bars, Snickers, Skittles, Nerds, Sour Patch Kids, Twix, Kit Kats and Airheads, DoorDash said.
After Reese’s for DoorDash customers in 2023 were Gushers tropical-flavored fruit snacks, Twix, Snickers, Nerds sweet and tangy gummy clusters, King Size Kit Kat bars, Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers, fruit-flavored Mike and Ike, peanut M&Ms and Airheads Xtremes Sour Belts.
In addition to Hershey’s milk chocolate bars, Sour Patch Kids and Skittles breaking into the top 10 last year, other candy that saw significant increases in DoorDash sales ahead of Halloween were Dum-Dum lollipops, Warheads, Lemonhead, Baby Bottle Pop, Bit-O-Honey and Necco Wafers.
DoorDash said the Hershey’s cookies and cream bar is having a strong showing for this Halloween season, based on its sales numbers on the app from Aug. 1 through Sept. 10.
