Donald Trump to declare America’s pride, confidence and spirit is back

President Trump will declare that America has regained its momentum under his administration, saying that his initiatives have restored the nation’s pride and confidence at a level never seen before in U.S. history, during his remarks to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night.

“We have accomplished more in 43 days than most administrations accomplish in four years or eight years and we are just getting started. I return to this chamber tonight to report that America’s momentum is back, our spirit is back, our pride is back, our confidence is back and the American Dream is surging bigger and better than ever before,” Mr. Trump will say, according to excerpts from his speech released by the White House. “The American dream is unstoppable and our country is on the verge of a comeback the likes of which the world has never witnessed and perhaps will never witness again.”

Mr. Trump, who has signed more than 100 executive orders and taken more than 400 executive actions since returning to the White House in January, will declare the first month of his presidency “the most successful in the history of our nation.”

He will say that his moves have returned “common sense, safety, optimism and wealth all across our wonderful land.”

“The people elected me to do the job and I’m doing it. In fact, it has been stated by many that the first month of our presidency is the most successful in the history of our nation,” the president will say.

Mr. Trump also will tout the economy and brush aside accusations by Democrats that he hasn’t done enough to lower the costs of household goods. He will look ahead, saying that he is managing America out of the sky-high inflation under President Biden.

He will blame the cost of eggs on his predecessor, saying he’s working to get food prices under control while simultaneously lowering the cost of energy.

He will note that he declared a national energy emergency on his first day in office to increase oil and gas leases and increase energy pipeline construction.

Mr. Trump will highlight his work to build a massive natural gas pipeline in Alaska and that other nations, including Japan and South Korea, want to partner with the U.S. by investing trillions of dollars in the project.

“A major focus of our fight to defeat inflation is rapidly reducing the cost of energy,” Mr. Trump will say.

Mr. Trump will call for a crackdown on crime across the nation.

He will vow to act swiftly and decisively to end the weaponization of federal law enforcement agencies, which he blames for bringing politically charged cases to stymie political opponents.

“As we reclaim our sovereignty, we must bring back law and order to our cities and towns. In recent years, our justice system has been turned upside down by radical left lunatics,” Mr. Trump will say. “Many jurisdictions virtually ceased endorsing the law against dangerous and repeat offenders, while weaponizing law enforcement against political opponents, like me.”
