Jewish American Heritage Month
Jewish American Heritage Month is in May. Join the Conference of Presidents and The Weitzman along with a national coalition of more than 200 organizations to celebrate. JAHM is a national marketing, awareness, and education effort that lifts up nearly four centuries of the varied and vibrant stories of Jewish life in America. Be sure to connect your May activities to JAHM to help raise awareness in your communities and among your constituents—mentioning JAHM at your events, in your newsletters, and on your social media channels can go a long way in awareness-building.
- Use the pre-made social posts and graphics in the partner toolkit on the JAHM partner page, and share the public toolkit with your community. Not a JAHM Member? Contact jahm@theweitzman.org
- JAHM Members can also submit their events to the JAHM community calendar—see the form on the partner page.
- Use and share the resources on the JAHM website aggregated from many of JAHM’s partners, especially the “For Educators” site.
- Digital JAHM school/library posters are available to download for your organization’s use or to share with your education partners.
Some of you/your organizations are additionally participating in national JAHM coordinating calls. They are primarily to hear what others are up to and share resources and information. We will be working collaboratively on content for social media and targeted emails/campaigns. If you are interested in joining these calls between now and May on Thursdays at 1pm ET/10am PT, please contact Jacob Cohen at jacob@conferenceofpresidents.<wbr>org.

Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity
As spring semester starts to wrap up and we look towards the fall, AEPi is pleased to provide a couple of our resources that can be helpful for partners to have and share among your networks:
Since 2022, AEPi International has proactively reached out to hundreds of campus and university administrators to build better relationships and to engage our peers in higher education in dialog on critical issues, including protecting Jewish students and institutions, ensuring that students’ constitutional rights are not impaired on issues such as freedom of assembly and speech, and to proactively address serious campus issues such as substance abuse, mental health, hazing, and sexual harassment and assault.
5 year Jewish Holiday Calendar
One of many resources the Alpha Epsilon Pi Antisemitism Response Center prepares and provides for university administrators, the 5-year Jewish Holiday Calendar gives a brief description of each major holiday as well as some observance points of note to campus administrators, and lists the dates of each holiday over 5 years. The calendar is set up in a way that reflects the Hebrew calendar (beginning with Rosh Hashanah), which mirrors the typical fall-spring academic calendar as well.
Join A Chapter/Rush Recommendations
As the May 1 deadline approaches for most college-bound HS seniors to decide where they’re going in the fall, this form can be used to be connected with Alpha Epsilon Pi and to hear from us about the process of joining an existing chapter. We also have a form for students interested in starting a chapter at a campus without an existing one.
This e-learning module teaches the basics of recognizing, recording/reporting, and responding to antisemitism. This e-learning equips undergrads to not only know what is antisemitic, but also to know what to do about it.

Looking North and to its Rebirth – An Exhibit Marking the State of Israel’s 77 Independence Day
On October 8, 2023, one day after the unprecedented Hamas attack on communities near the Gaza border, Hezbollah initiated its assault on communities in northern Israel. Thousands of civilians were evacuated from their homes and spent many long months living in hotels. Numerous communities sustained significant damage. In this exhibition produced by the Department of Irgoon and Israelis Abroad, we have chosen to showcase optimistic photographs. These captured moments convey hope, resilience, and the gradual return to everyday life.
Israel’s Declaration of Independence Live From the Egalitarian Kotel
Every year between Yom HaShoah and Yom Ha’atzmaut, the World Zionist Organization holds a festive event of reading Megillat Ha’atzmaut at the Egalitarian Kotel. We broadcast it live in various languages to the entire Jewish world. This is our way of celebrating Israel’s independence and strengthening our sense of Jewish peoplehood, both in Israel and abroad.
