The Iran war, in some important ways, is exactly like COVID, the various hoaxes implicating Trump in every nefarious activity known to man, or the Biden is “sharp as a tack” hoax.
In every single case, the usual suspects line up to push what ought to be obvious lies, the same Pravda Media folks repeat those lies endlessly, and the same politicians do everything they can to create panic and chaos.
And once the dust settles and everything they said turns out to be a proven lie, they remain on TV as respected analysts and get glowing profiles telling us all how brilliant and prescient they are.
Trump was “in the hospital” last week.
Then he was a madman about to start a nuclear war.
Tonight, he’s a coward who backed down by not turning Iran into glass.
This is the new normal in discourse and media coverage. They’ll treat Vance or Rubio the same way. Exhausting.

Over the past 5 weeks, we have been told one long string of lies about Operation Epic Fury, culminating in the “Trump is about to nuke Iran! lie, and every single person who screamed at the top of their lungs and demanded the president be impeached is now on TV calling Trump chicken for not doing so. 
They predicted $200 oil. It is now under $75 and still falling. They predicted a market crash. It is now within spitting distance of where it was when the war started. They promised massive casualties. Currently, the death toll for US servicemen is about the same as those who died in training accidents last year.
It was literally more dangerous to be on Chicago’s streets last month than serving the US military in the Middle East.

Regardless of your point of view on OEF, our military is performing heroically and expertly, and I celebrate them.
Pundits are now on TV proclaiming Iran the victor. That is quite the take, given that its leadership has been wiped out, the vast majority of its military capability is gone, its economy is in ruins, and the United States, which has only agreed to a cease-fire, not a treaty ending the war, is defenseless against us.

It’s true that Iran has not yet been decisively defeated. They still have some missiles and drones, which is hardly anything. But Germany in 1918 still held French territory and had almost 10% of France’s population under its control. Yet nobody disputes that they lost the war, because the country was exhausted.
I don’t know how this ends, and it has not ended, so none of us really does. But Iran is not “winning.” Surviving is not “winning.”
But what I do know is that every single prediction made by Trump’s opponents has been wrong, and that everything they say is a lie. There were no war crimes. The predicted scenarios did not happen. The parade of horribles was all concocted crap, and not a single one of the liars will lose credibility.
