It’s a tough job, being a big-time elected official in D.C. You’re always in the spotlight and so many times your family is, too, whether they want to be or not.
It’s especially tough when you’re only one step from the presidency, like J.D. Vance, and you’re a lightning rod character in your own right.
Networks are out to start family trouble any way they can. Take CBS (PLEASE!), for instance.
They had someone hot-foot it out to where his mother-in-law is the provost of a San Diego university and had to be licking their chops at what they found.

She advanced DEI at her university. Her son-in-law, Vice President JD Vance, wants to end it nationwide.
…Lakshmi Chilukuri is the provost of the University of California San Diego’s Sixth College. She is also Vice President JD Vance’s mother-in-law. Chilukuri helped create a pilot course on race, ethnicity and gender in biology and medicine, served on the university’s biological sciences diversity committee, and has written proudly of her school’s commitment to diversity.
Momma Chilukuri didn’t respond to the obvious goad, while J.D. went on to crush them like bugs.
…Vance said in a statement, “I don’t like DEI, and I’m proud of what our administration has done on that front.”
“But I love my mother-in-law. If she doesn’t share my views on DEI I suppose I’ll have to do what 99 percent of Americans do when confronted with a family member who doesn’t always agree with them: get over it,” Vance said. “I’ll choose instead to focus on her kindness and the fact that she’s an incredible mother and loving grandmother to the most important people in my life.”
Vance added, “This story exists because CBS has decided that harassing my mother in law is a reasonable price in order to attack President Trump.” Chilukuri did not reply to emailed questions. A spokesperson for the university declined to comment.

A pissy little San Francisco rag got big kick out of theater-goers behaving badly because, you know, the Trump administration ‘continues to antagonize its political opponents.’
When Vice President JD Vance strolled into the Kennedy Center on Thursday night, he received a special greeting from the audience.
The performing arts center erupted into boos and jeers as the vice president and his wife, Usha Vance, took their seats for a National Symphony Orchestra concert. The crowd’s reaction, which can be heard in a video shared by the Guardian correspondent Andrew Roth, is immediate. As Vance walked into his balcony seat, boos swelled throughout the auditorium. Vance responded to the uproar by calmly waving down from his box seat.
“You ruined this place!” one audience member can be heard yelling in Roth’s video.

…Richard Grenell, who was appointed by the new board to replace Rutter as the institution’s president, said Kennedy Center CFO Stacey Johnson told him, “They’ve been digging into debt reserves.”
“I was briefed today by the CFO of the Kennedy Center on its financial situation. She told me there is ZERO cash on hand. And ZERO in reserves,” Grenell said in a social media post shortly after he took the reins at the center. “And the deferred maintenance is a crisis. For the past months they’ve been digging into the DEBT RESERVES.”
“We must fix this great institution. The people working hard at the Nation’s premier performing arts center deserve better – and so do all Americans,” Grenell continued.
Grennel later reposted a statement on social media saying he fired five Kennedy Center executives “totaling $2.4 MILLION in salary.”
On the bright side, this only proves, yet again, the level at which the Left operates. They are five-year-old children with nasty tempers and no self-control who would fling poo if they could, only they can’t get their Pampers off without help, which frustrates them even more.
Meanwhile, the lights go down, and the symphony starts.
So, who cares? Certainly not the Vances.
