Trashing Teslas, Trump Tower Tantrums and a Swatting Swarm – HotAir

I don’t know about you, but I’m guessing you were like us here at casa de major dad around Inauguration Day – waiting to see what form the anti-Trump resistance, along with their street soldier factions, would assume to express their disappointment in the election results.

Protests, fiery but peaceful? Contained to the immediate Washington area or spread across the country?

The immoderate – read: freezing Arctic cold – weather certainly helped put a damper on whatever, if anything, they had planned when the outside ceremonies and parades were canceled.

But truth be told, it’s been almost an eerie silence from groups one is normally accustomed to seeing behave badly simply because they’re bored and decided to act out.

The expected explosion never came.

On college campuses, previously pampered Palestinian protestors are suddenly finding themselves persona non grata as the Trump administration pulls the reality purse strings shut on indulgent school administrators. Those ‘kids’ and their theatrics gave the Ivies an edgy, cool vibe right up to where they started to cost the institution real money.

Suddenly, the antics are no longer seen as youthful exuberance.

Columbia University has taken action against students who participated in a pro-Palestinian protest last spring and took over a campus building.

The school suspended and expelled some students who participated in occupying Hamilton Hall in a move that escalated last year’s campus protests.

The Trump administration has pulled $400m (£310m) of federal funding from Columbia University, saying it failed to fight antisemitism on campus.

The university’s actions also follow the arrest of Columbia campus activist Mahmoud Khalil, who was detained by federal immigration authorities on Saturday.

The university’s Judicial Board (UJB) issued sanctions to students that ranged from “multi-year suspensions, temporary degree revocation and expulsions”, the school said in a statement on Thursday.

A campus-wide email sent indicated the university issued these sanctions against dozens of students, the BBC’s US news partner CBS reported.

The Columbia student newspaper report was filled with many words of furious, impotent, tiny fist-shaking at the school’s temerity and sister college Barnard as well.

…“This cannot go on,” the post reads. “It is our duty to disrupt. It is our duty to escalate for our people.”

Good luck with that. The response might well be a 180° out of what these groups have been used to.

The Department of Education has sent a warning letter to sixty some odd schools telling them to shape up, so it’s not just the Ivies and West Coast schools on notice.

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) dispatched letters to 60 colleges and universities warning them of potential enforcement actions if they do not fulfill their obligations under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act to protect Jewish students on campus.

The letters are addressed to all U.S. universities that are presently under investigation for Title VI violations relating to antisemitic harassment and discrimination.

The department’s actions reflect the latest escalation in federal oversight of higher education institutions, with unprecedented scrutiny on how universities address campus protests, discrimination complaints and student conduct. The potential consequences are severe, including loss of federal funding, compliance mandates and legal action if universities are found to be failing in their obligations under Title VI, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color or national origin in federally funded programs.

The investigations are part of a broader federal crackdown on universities, a priority for the Trump administration since returning to office in January. The focus has intensified around issues of antisemitism, race-based policies, DEI initiatives and campus speech protections, placing universities in the crosshairs of aggressive regulatory enforcement.

Not only does it look to be a temperature swing as far as countenancing protest ‘escalations’ of any type on campuses, but there seems to be something more targeted and more insidious afoot in the broader ‘protest’ community, too.

No cities burned after Trump’s inauguration. No riot police were called out night after night as spasms of violence rocked different places across the country, and thank God.

But what’s going on now, to me anyway, seems to be a more focused campaign. More personal than the usual mayhem, and it’s potentially pretty horrific in its own right.

The Palestinian bunch was out for their latest poster boy – Mahmoud Khalil – legally snatched up by ICE for deportation for violating the terms of his green card status.

Hundreds were protesting the arrest outside a Manhattan courthouse yesterday, including a Columbia professor who stole a Trump counter-protester’s flag.

The agitator who stole a man’s Trump flag outside a Manhattan federal courthouse Wednesday during the protest against Pro-Hamas organizer Mahmoud Khalil’s deportation is suspected to be a current Columbia University professor.

Hundreds of demonstrators rallied outside the federal courthouse in lower Manhattan to demand the release of Khalil, whose arrest over the weekend has agitated fellow leftists.

The Columbia professor is just what you’d think he’d be as an active participant advocating for a terrorist-sympathizing non-citizen.

…Lopez teaches a course called “Planning For Justice in a Low Carbon Future.”

His bio on the Columbia University website highlights his “expertise in structural power and equity, organizational and movement strategy, adaptive leadership and change, organization and network development, systems change advocacy, and strengths-based inquiry and engagement.”

His passion for racial justice and movement work can be traced back to his family. A product of Black and White Puerto Rican parents, he was educated from a young age on how racism and anti-blackness can be embedded in a person’s daily life and life experiences.

Another group marched to Trump Tower, somehow broke into the building, and occupied the first floor.

What was also typical for these ‘organic protests’ were the shiny new, identical t-shirts, the sparkling printed signage, and the choreographed chanting.

Who is planning and paying for all this and well enough in advance to whip up the supplies as needed?

The Trump Tower bunch was organized by ‘Jewish Voice for Peace.’ Say whut, right?

The ‘Jewish’ group is not so much. They’re an anti-Zionist – read: anti-Semitic – an anti-Israel left-wing group who spent yesterday storming private property to protest the arrest of a Hamas sympathizer, which isn’t all that strange because to some members of this ‘Jewish group,’ the October 7 atrocities were justified.  Additionally, Jewish Voice for Peace is funded by a shadowy non-profit called American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), which is under investigation by the Virginia attorney general for funding Hamas.

The Iranians are funding oodles of these protests just as they continue to fund assassination attempts on critics of the regime here.

The president is not just a target for progressive law enforcement. The Iranians and others will gladly pay for destabilizing protests as well as target Trump properties.

NGOs are watching much of their government money be cut off – of course, they’re going after him with everything they’ve got.

After Trump, another focus is targeting and torching Teslas, be it individual vehicles, entire dealerships, or rows of chargers.

Sure, some of these are random nutcases inspired by anti-Elon rhetoric. Some who have too much money on their hands don’t realize that buying the Tesla you then destroy defeats the purpose of your protest.

Carry on, sir. Carry on.

Sometimes karma takes a hand protecting and avenging Tesla charging stations, if you consider the fellow who apparently whiffed his Molotov cocktail class in college.

But this is a dark development, wouldn’t you say? A nationwide guerilla warfare campaign against a single company to strike at one person?

A campaign that has numerous vocal boosters to encourage more gunshots through windows, vandalized models, and flaming Cybertrucks.

There’s nothing unhinged about this at all to Democrats, progressives, and their lunatic, rabid footsoldiers.

Which is also how a round of swatting came about yesterday. At least five pretty prominent conservative, Trump-supporting X voices found themselves with scores of officers in their yards or pounding on their doors, looking for the reportedly crazed ‘suicide by cop’ or the ‘hostage’ being held.

It is horrifically dangerous for both the victims of the scams and the officers who are called to action.

Almost every member of Nick Sorter’s family received visits.

…Before calling in the swat, this dumbsh*t sent my sister an email calling me a Nazi, of course. So the motive is clear.

In my dad’s case, the caller told police my dad was killing my entire family, requiring them to intervene with deadly force.

This is nothing short of attempted murder.

They wanted the police to kill my father.

Unfortunately for the swatter, I WILL NOT stop. I WILL NOT shut up. And you WILL NOT win.

If anything, my family is behind me even more than they were before. Because they just got a first hand look at the forces I’m fighting with on a daily basis.

Your hate fuels me. I’m over the target.

As President Trump says: FIGHT. FIGHT. FIGHT.

Radio talkshow host Joe Pagliarulo.

Chase Geiser.

Gunther Eagleman.

And, for the love of God – they swatted Shawn Farash – the comedian who does those dead-on Trump impressions.

For that simple sin, he and his wife could have possibly lost their lives.

This is a far different, more pernicious, more malevolent beast clawing its way out of the muck and fetid slime these people dwell in.

It’s as if frustration is unleashing whatever restraint their tenuous grasp on reality still maintained, and their putrescent, violent fever dreams are being laser-focused purposefully on people.

Not ‘institutions.’

On individuals. On fellow Americans.

It’s as if there’s been a mad dog whistle blown just as their leashes were let go.

Instead of watching the TV for what the demented and deranged foot soldiers of the Left are doing in the middle of a city street, they have you watching the Ring on your front door.

That’s an unholy, un-American escalation.

…This isn’t about politics—weaponizing law enforcement against ANY  American is not only morally reprehensible but also endangers lives, including those of our officers. That will not be tolerated.

We are fully committed to working with local law enforcement to crack down on these crimes.

More updates to come.

Go get ’em.
